Gold Awardee - Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan

Sept 2008 - present

 

- Dedicated over 400 hours working on my Gold Award, the most prestigious award in Girl Scouts that's awarded to 5.4% of Girl Scouts
- Organized 3 STEM Nights in 2 school districts with over 1, 150 attendees
- Partnered with 23 engineering organizations such as the Robot Garage, University of Michigan’s Society of Women Engineers, and the Michigan Science Center
- Secured 120+ volunteers
- Contacted administration at all 20 elementary schools from 3 school districts, reaching out to over 25,000 people
- Partnered with 8 local businesses for sponsorships of $2,100

- As a Girl Scout since Kindergarten, I've transitioned through Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, and am currently an Ambassador
- Achieved my Silver & Bronze Awards

- I was the first student, in the foundation’s 30+ years, to receive a grant of over $500
- Selected to be a part of the board to help support the foundation’s mission for students in the Novi Community School District

- Appointed to the 21 member council to partner with the Novi Community School District, local companies, and charities to initiate innovative programs and ideas

- Elected as Treasurer to collaborate with my peers to plan & organize outreach events for the city

- Mentored 2 FIRST Robotics Lego League teams at the SAY Detroit Play center for 55+ hours
- Taught elementary students STEM skills but just as importantly, teamwork, researching, and public speaking skills

- Spearheaded a weekly STEM program at Feed The Need for over 60 students
